Clinical Use | Patients with the leukocyte adhesion deficiency syndrome type 1 (LAD-1) are often clinically recognized due to delayed umbilical cord separation, impaired wound healing, persistent leukocytosis, and recurrent soft tissue and oral infections. The presence of the adhesion molecules is important in the attachment and migration of inflammatory cells. The deficiency is generally observed early when the patient is younger than 18 years of age. |
